Jicama Fries

Now I am not going to lie to you and say that these tastes just like traditional French fries, because they don’t. They taste like Jicama lol, but they are a good alternative if you are watching your carb intake or just want to try something different. #ProTip Dip it in guac and thank me later!

Ingredients:

1 lb jicama peeled and sliced into the desired shape (you can buy the pre-sliced if you prefer)

1 ½ tbsp. cornstarch (helps them get crispy)

3 tbsp. of avocado oil

Season to taste: seasoned salt, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, black pepper

 

 

 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Bring jicama sliced to a boil in a pot of water on the stove for 15 minutes.

  3. Remove, drain, and pat dry.

  4. Place jicama on a baking sheet and evenly coat with oil, cornstarch, and seasonings.

  5. Spread into a single layer on the baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until crisped to your liking (flip fries at the 20-minute mark).

  6. Let it cool a bit, then enjoy
