Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Oatmeal is such a hearty and filling breakfast! Make this and get your day started off right!

Ingredients:

  ½ cup old fashioned oats

  ½ cup plant milk

  ½ cup apple juice

 1 tbsp. agave or maple syrup (sweeten to your liking)

 Splash of vanilla extract

  ½ apple diced

 Season To Taste: nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice

 

 

 Topping:

 ½ apple diced

 1 tbsp. vegan butter

 2 tbsp. sugar (could also use maple syrup)

 Dash of lemon zest and juice

 Dash of cinnamon

 

Serves 1

 

  1. Cook Oats: In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients for oats.

  2. Simmer (stirring frequently) until all the liquid is absorbed by the oats.

  3. Cook Topping: In a separate small sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples and sugar or syrup and cook for a couple minutes stirring frequently until a caramel like sauce is formed.

  4. Serve oatmeal topped with caramelized apples.

  5. Enjoy!
